Enjoy!!!!!!
10. Freak Night - Northwest powerhouse USCevents always brings in a great selection of local, U.S., and international talent for their Halloween massive. Over the years USCevents has dominated the northwest rave scene and this is one example why. Although the line-up for 2008 hasn't been announced, they're in their 12th year so they're bound not to come up short. (late October)
ETDPOP2008
9. ETD POP - Bay area giants Skills (Dj Workshop) are going into their 12th year next spring and if it's anywhere as jammed pack with talent as it was this year, with the likes of Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude and a whole bunch of others, they will not disappoint you. I've been several times and Skills does things on an epic proportion. A must if you live in the bay. (late Spring, usually May)
MonsterMassive2007
8. Monster Massive - Going into their 11th annual Halloween bash, GoVentures of Los Angeles is getting ready for one of their biggest monster massives yet, with headliners Paul Van Dyk, Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Felix the Housecat, Steve Angello and James Lavelle just to name a few. On groovetickets.com it says the max occupancy is 70,000. At first I thought this was a misprint, but then I remembered all the other Goventures events I've been to and have seen how many people show up, so I wouldn't put it past them. The ultimate Halloween event and massive in the US! (late October)
7. USCevents Annual - For over 11 years now, Seattle based USCevents has dominated the NW rave scene. Like most massives, this one also grew from smaller venues that dwarfed the stadiums and clubs they're now thrown in. Growing up in Seattle, I kick myself sometimes because I didn't go to some of the earlier events with my friends. USCevents are the king of the NW because they know how to throw a damn good party. (late Spring, early Summer)
6. Nocturnal Festival - Los Angeles based Insomniac just threw one of the biggest parties of the year, with over 3o djs nocturnal festival ( formally - nocturnal wonderland) must've been a hit with the so cal fans; I'm a little jealous I didn't get to go. With over 14 years of experience the crew at Insomniac are known for throwing some of the biggest parties on the west coast and in the US. This is the party to end the summer if your an electronic music nut. I'm definitely trying to go next year. (early September)
5. Coachella - At first I was a little skeptical to put this one on my list because this isn't really an electronic music based event like the others but then I saw the line up, and it's filled with enough star djs to make anybody's mouth water. This year featured Fat Boy Slim, Sasha and John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Booka Shade, Sandra Collins and Deadmau5, just to name a few. I've never been, but how could you go wrong with an all star line up of not only electronic musicians but some of the worlds biggest artists. In the djmag top 100 djs issue. When asked what festival they liked the most, numerous of them said, "Coachella, no doubt". (April)
ElectricDaisyCarnival2008
4. Electric Daisy Carnival - With over 45 of the worlds biggest djs and acts Insomniac of Los Angeles definitely knows how to get the summer started off right. I've unfortunately never been, but I've talked to people that have and they say they've gotten lost numerous times because its size ( its was probably just the intoxication, but you get my point). Carnival rides, bumping music, and the warm so cal summer air. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer night!
(early Summer, June)
3. Giant Maximus - Although Los Angeles based Giant has only been throwing this party for a short time, it has grown into one of the premiere parties to be at if your an electronic music fan on New Year's eve. With past headliners such as Tiesto, Mstrkrft, Roger Sanchez, Sasha, Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and a plethora of others there's no way you can go wrong. They actually close a section of downtown LA to throw this New Years GIANT of a party!!!! (New Years Eve)
Antoine Clamaran, Together As One, New Year's Eve 2005
2. Together As One - So Cal and LA based powerhouses Insomniac and GoVentures join forces to throw one of the biggest parties of the year. and what better way to spend New Year's eve then to be raving out with thousands of others just like yourself to some of the finest djs and electronic acts in the business. I've been to a lot of massives and when Insomniac and GoVentures come together they do it like no other. Trust me, there's no better way to send off the year!!!! (New Years Eve)
1. SF Lovefest - Before I tell you a little about SFLovefest (formally - sf loveparade). I want you to know that besides Winter Music Conference in Miami, this is the most jammed pack week for electronic music in the US. This is the epitome of a party, it's one of the things I look forward to the most every year. I've never had so much fun in my life, last year over 80,000 people danced to over 250 different djs and acts. I can only name a few star djs in the world that HAVEN'T graced the decks during LoveFest over the last four years.
San Francisco has more djs per-capita then anywhere in the world so you can see why SFLovefest, which is in its 5th year has turned out to be such a success. What originally was just a day and night of partying has turned into an action packed week of events throughout the city. Every single electronic music promoter and club have joined in on the fun. No matter what your taste is whether it be house, breaks, trance, electro, goa, or drum and bass; there's bound to be a dj to fill your ears with some of the most booty shaken, mind twiddling, pounding music out there. Get there early for the parade that runs through downtown SF and continues till it reaches the Civic Center, were it sets base and keeps the party rocking all day long from 12 noon to 9pm. And if that's not enough for those dancing shoes of yours, there's every kind of after party you can imagine. Just like the Official After Party or Infuse - Love Rules parties listed below. Just be careful: once you've gone one time, you'll have to go to every other one for the rest of your life!!!!!! O yeah!! I forgot to mention the most important part!!! The LoveFest is FREE, but if u make a 10 dollar contribution this year they'll give u an ITunes gift-card so you can download some of the performing artists music. Ticket prices for the Official After Party as well as the numerous other bangin' partys can be found at www.sflovefest.org (late September, early October)
